Information about available content types
Pixenio is website builder that automatically builds your website for you. Your job is to add a content and images, then choose a theme and colors you like or match your style.
After over 20 years of creating customer websites we have identified that the following content types are in many cases everything you need.
Pages you created, Services, Blog posts, Galleries, Testimonials and Team members can be deleted. If you delete the item, it will go to the Trash. It will stay there forever. You can of course delete the trash if you like. It works the same way as with your files on your PC or laptop.
Pixenio will automatically generate the following special pages for you. These special pages cannot be deleted, you can only set them as draft or hide them from menu.
Cannot be deleted and cannot be set as draft. That makes sense as you need one. You can also configure Homepage look by selecting one of predefined homepage variants in “Appearance” settings.
Blog, Services, Team, References & Gallery
These special pages will be automatically activated once you add item such as blog post to your website. You can then edit them as normal page, add more content or title image.
Contact page will automatically display your contact information from “Settings -> Contact Info”. It can also display Opening hours or other information. It all depends on the theme. Contact form is also automatically enabled on this page.
This special page is there to be GDPR compliant. You can set it as draft if you don’t wish to have it on your website.
You can reorder pages by dragging the page by the three vertical lines on the left hand side in pages list.
You can add unlimited number of normal pages to your website. These standard pages can be deleted or set as draft.
All pages can be added to Main menu or Footer menu. You can do it in “Page settings” if you go to edit page.
Blog content type allows you to add blog posts or articles to your website. It’s layout is customized to have comments on the bottom. If you write your first blog post, Blog page will be automatically activated. You can therefore see your blog post there.
You can use blog to share your stories, write food recipes. Possibilities are endless. Blog is a great tool to make content marketing. You can write blog post to specific keywords to reach new visitors or customers.
Each blog post has comments at the end, you can of course turn off this feature. Comments have Google Invisible Recaptcha automatically activated therefore you won’t get any spam.
If your visitor writes a new comment you will get a notification email. You can reply to this comment or deleted it if you don’t like it. It’s your website. Don’t allow hates to ruin your space. Every reply to comment will send a notification email unless your visitor turn it off.
Gallery is a special content type to display your portfolio or photos. It can be used to showcase your work or premises.
Each gallery can have multiple images with description and other settings such as client, date, url or price. Images can be reordered by dragging on the three vertical lines.
If you add new item to gallery, it will automatically activate Gallery page. Therefore you can see it. You can set gallery page as draft, add it to header or footer menu. It’s your choice.
Photos will be displayed on a dedicated detail page. Each theme has gallery grid and gallery detail pages styled differently. You choose which you like the most.
Services content type will allow you present what you do or what you can offer to your customers. If you add new service, it will automatically activate Services page. You can set Services page as draft, add it to header or footer menu.
You can add except or full content to each service. If you only add excerpt, this service will be visible only on Services page. But if you add also content, this service will have its own detail page visible from the website. It all works automatically, the only thing you need to do is write text and upload an image or select an icon.
Testimonials content type will help you present your references or reviews. If you add your first testimonial, Pixenio will automatically activate Testimonials page. You can add it to header or footer menu.
Testimonials are only displayed on Testimonials page.
Team content type allows you to present yourself or your team members. If you add first team member, Team page will be activated automatically. You can set Team page as draft, add it to header or footer menu.
You can add except or full content to each team member. If you only add excerpt, this team member will be visible only on Team page. But if you add also content, this team member will have its own detail page visible from the website. It all works automatically, the only thing you need to do is write the text and upload an photo.
Website look&feel, basic settings
Custom url will allow visitors reach your website via specific domain address. Domain name can be for example yourname.com or yourbusinessname.com. If you don’t have your domain already, please follow this guide to purchase and configure your custom url.
How to purchase domain
You can purchase your domain from any domain registrar. We recommend purchasing the domain from https://godaddy.com
How to configure domain DNS
To configure DNS setting for your domain you only need to configure two records:
- A record for root domain yourdomain.com or “@” pointing to ip address 126.96.36.199
- CNAME record for “www” subdomain www.yourdomain.com pointing back to your root domain yourdomain.com
Process of DNS setup is similar in all domain registrars. The following instructions apply for Godaddy:
- Login to your GoDaddy account at https://godaddy.com
- Go to “My Products” at https://account.godaddy.com/products
- Click the DNS button for domain name you want to edit
- Edit the A record for “@” by clicking on pen icon on the right hand side
- Fill in “Points to” field with IP address 188.8.131.52
- Make sure that CNAME record for “www” is pointing to @
- Click Save
How to set custom url in Pixenio
Once you already configured your domain DNS, you can add your custom domain to Pixenio. Please note that DNS changes may sometimes take 24-48 hours to take effect.
- Login to your Pixenio account at https://pixenio.com/login
- Go to “Settings” and click on “Site Domain”
- Enter your Domain name and click Save
Pixenio automatically checks if your domain is configured correctly and issue SSL certificate. This process might take up to 24 hours to finish. Do not worry, Pixenio will send you an email once your website is ready and secure.
Email for Custom URL
If you'd like to use a custom URL for your email address you will need to create an MX record in your DNS settings. Process is similar to how you created a CNAME record for your custom domain. You need to follow the instructions provided by the email host to create the appropriate MX record in your DNS settings.
We suggest you using Gsuite by Google, but you can use any email host provider you like.
A sitemap is a file where you provide information about the pages, videos, and other files on your site, and the relationships between them. Search engines like Google read this file to more intelligently crawl your site. A sitemap tells the crawler which files you think are important in your site.
Your sitemap is automatically generated based on content of your Pixenio website and is available on url https://your_domain.pixenio.com/sitemap.xml (to see the exact url go to Pixenio "Settings > Integrations").
Most likely you will want to add this url in your Google Search Console Account which will help Google to find your website and pages a lot faster.
Google Search Console
Google Search Console tools and reports help you measure your site's Search traffic and performance, fix issues and make your site shine in Google Search results.
Before you start using Google Search Console you must register your website in your Google Account. Please follow Google's instructions and do not forget to register your Pixenio Custom URL if you have activated it.
Website Verification Methods
This method is available only if you have already registered your Pixenio website in Google Analytics and you have your own Google Analytics code inserted in Pixenio "Settings > Integrations". During the verification process in your Google Account choose "Google Analytics" method and follow the instructions provided by Google.
During the verification process in your Google Account choose "HTML tag" method, which will generate for you a code snippet simillar to this:

Before you click on "Verify" button, copy the whole snippet and paste it in Pixenio "Settings > Integrations > Google Search Console code". Save Pixenio Settings and return back to your Google Account where you can continue and verify your website.
After this step the ownership of website should be confirmed and you should be able to use Google Search Console.
Basic website content
Each website needs a title and logo. You can add it in “Settings -> Basic content”. You will also find there other options such as CTA button or Footer text.
If your company has a logo, it’s the best to add it to your website. Pixenio allows you to add two logo styles: for light backgrounds and for dark background. Best logo is in SVG format and transparent background. Ask a designer who made it to you to provide you your logo in this format. It will look amazing in Pixenio.
Pixenio websites are optimized for conversion. It allows you to easily add CTA button with description to your homepage. Each theme displays CTA button differently, but it is styled to catch visitors eyes.

Appearance & Colors
Content in Pixenio is completely separated from design and website layout. You can switch to a different theme, change color scheme or homepage layout any time you want. Everything that you have ever entered in pages, service, blog etc. will be kept. You won’t lose any of your data. Give it a try! Simply navigate to “Appearance” from the admin menu on the left hand side.
That way you can keep up with new design or technology trends without rebuilding your website from scratch. We are constantly working on new themes for you.
Contact form settings
Pixenio allows you to add simple contact form to any page. This option is available in “Page Settings” if you edit selected page.
Contact form works automatically and has Google Invisible Recaptcha feature to prevent spam. Information from contact form will be sent to your email address that is set in your account.
If there is an email address set up in “Settings -> Contact Info”, it will be used as email recipient. Copy of the mail will be also sent to a visitors email address who has filled in that form.
Tips & Tricks
In some situations you migh want to hide all your email addresses from your website but you still want to use Contact form. You can simply remove all addresses from Settings -> Contact Info. Now the main Account (login) email address becomes also the Contact form address.
It is common case that during registration you used your personal email which isn't suitable as Pixenio contact email. You can change this address whenever you need in your Account (but keep in mind that you will have to use this new address also as login email).
Now all your email addresses are hidden, your Contact form is working and all Pixenio notifications and messages are sent to your new contact email.
GDPR & Cookies
All GDPR features can be found in “Settings -> GDPR”
Whole GDPR implementation can be turned on/off easily by one click.
Contact form on your website will display information why your visitors need to enter their email address.
Comments form on your website will display information why your visitors need to enter their email address.
You can also configure consent texts that will be displayed under the contact or comments form.
Billing & Subscriptions
Your account and payments
Billing & Invoices
Websites in Pixenio can be only paid via Credit card. You can choose to pay on month-to-month basis or pay for a whole year. It’s cheaper to pay for a whole year in advance.
Payments are not refundable. You can test Pixenio for free for a limited time to see if it’s for you.
Invoice for every payment can be found in “My Account -> Billing”.
Monthly and yearly payments are paid automatically to prevent any downtime of your website. If you wish to cancel your subscription, you can do it in “My Account -> Subscriptions”.
If you cancel the subscription, your website will become inaccessible after the time that it was paid for.
If you do not wish to use our services any more, you can delete your account completely. You can do it in “Manage Account -> Profile”.
If you click on Delete Account button, confirmation email will be sent to your email address. If you click on confirmation link in the email, your account and all your data will be frozen for a period or 30 days.
You can use these 30 days to reactivate your account. You can do it by clicking on email that was sent to you previously.
After 30 days all your data will be deleted and cannot be restored.
